Jonny Walker, and yes, that is his given name, is an LA native and a retired LAPD Officer who is also a cancer survivor.  His mantra is, “Life is short, live it to the fullest because every day is a gift,” and he has done just that throughout his entire career.

In addition to him serving on the LAPD for 28 years, he has also been delighting audiences for over two decades as a singer, actor and comedian. His love for music began during his early days as a police officer singing in an LAPD rock band, Mutual Aide, as part of the DARE Program.  Performing for the youth and sharing the anti‐drug message was his way of giving back to his community.  He later helped form an R&B band called City Beat with his fellow police officers with Walker singing lead for 10 years.

Prior to his police career, Walker graduated from The Columbia School of Broadcasting, and did some intern work on a cable rock station in Simi Valley.  He also had the opportunity to do voice over work with Warner Brothers 100 Channels, where he was the commercial announcer for Yes, Dear and King of Queens.

Most recently, Walker has been performing with his new band, Jonny Walker and The Whiskey Shooters, a country music band made up of some incredibly talented musicians.  His passion for music and story‐telling has made this genre of music his favorite, singing cover hits, by country stars such as Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Tobi Keith and Darius Rucker, just to name a few. This past summer they performed to packed audiences at different venues throughout Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.

Walker grew up in the diverse neighborhood of Highland Park and attended local public schools.  His ability to connect with others of diverse cultures and backgrounds has given him the opportunity to apply those life experiences to his music and acting career.  Most recently, he had his theatrical performing debut as the Sergeant at Arms in Alan Sorkin’s play, A Few Good Men, directed by Tony Pauletto at the NoHo Performing Arts Center.  He has also had roles in the series Sons of Anarchy and Murder Book.  Coming up for Jonny Walker are roles as the Evil Magistrate in Chris Berube’s play, The Dark Side of the Moon,  and Major General Edwin Walker, in Daniel Henning’s production of The Tragedy of JFK (as told by Wm. Shakespeare.)
